Enough: The Word I Didn't Know I Needed Until I Turned 50
Turning 50 has a way of making you look back and ask what actually mattered.
It wasn't the next launch. The next milestone. The next goal checked off the list.
Those things brought me opportunities, growth, and incredible people along the way. But they were never the point.
The point was to wake up to a life I enjoyed, use my gifts, and surround myself with people who loved what they did and appreciated me…
And full disclosure, there were seasons when I forgot that. I was so focused on helping others, building, creating, giving, doing, that I lost touch with the very Joy I was teaching. Maybe you've been there too. Maybe you're there right now, standing in the middle of a life that looks good on paper and still feels like it's happening somewhere just out of reach.
This year, a new word found its way into my Joy based values. Not gratitude, though I feel that daily. Not abundance, though it lives close by. The word was enjoy.
Not as a nice idea to post about. As a practice.
The practice of enoughness. Of releasing the seeking and the striving. Of really steeping in what is already here, the relationships, the work, the ordinary mornings, the life that is already full. Not someday. Now.
I spent my birthday week celebrating that. Five days of offers, yes, because I wanted to make it easy for you to say yes to something too. But underneath every one of them was the same invitation I keep coming back to: stop waiting for permission to enjoy what you've already built.
That's one of the biggest reasons Gillian and I created Recalibrate, a nervous system reset for founders, leaders, and women in business. Not because ambitious women need another thing to do. Because we need spaces that help us remember who we are underneath all the doing. Spaces where our nervous systems can finally exhale. Where success starts feeling like success. Where we stop rushing past the life we worked so hard to build.
If you've been watching from the sidelines lately, waiting for the right moment to slow down and actually feel what you've created, this is your nudge to begin enjoying what’s already here.
Despite what we’re taught in a world focused on results, outcomes and performacne … the path to more is by focusing on what is already here.
Because you deserve to enjoy the life you already have.
Joy isn't a bypass. It's a practice. And enough might be the most radical Joy based value you ever choose.
If you want a soft place to practice this with a community around you, the Joy Nest is always open. Come steep in enoughness with us.
