What You’re Carrying Might Not Be Yours to Keep
There’s a point in your growth where things don’t feel dramatically wrong, but they don’t feel fully right either.
You’re still functioning. Still showing up. Still doing what needs to be done.
But underneath that, there’s a quiet awareness.
Something feels heavier than it used to.
And often, that’s where people get confused.
Because nothing has “gone wrong.” But something has changed.
What’s actually happening is that your awareness is expanding.
You’re starting to notice what you’ve been carrying. The pressure to hold everything together. The mental load that never fully turns off. The expectations you’ve taken on without questioning them.
At some point, all of that just becomes normal.
Until it doesn’t. Until your body starts to feel it.
Your energy starts to shift.
And what once felt manageable starts to feel like too much.
Most people respond to this by trying to fix it.
They try to be more productive. More efficient. More disciplined.
But that usually adds more on top of what’s already full.
And that’s not what creates change.
The real shift starts when you pause long enough to ask a different question:
What am I carrying that I don’t actually need to keep carrying?
Not everything you’ve learned to hold is yours to continue holding.
Some of it was necessary at one point.
Some of it helped you get to where you are.
But that doesn’t mean it still belongs in your life now.
This is where space begins.
Not by adding something new, but by being honest about what no longer fits.
And that honesty doesn’t need to be dramatic.
It can be simple. A moment of awareness.
A decision not to take something on.
A willingness to pause instead of push.
A moment of truth-telling because you actually care enough to share your truth.
Because Joy doesn’t come from building more on top of a full life.
It comes from creating space inside of it. And from that space, things start to shift.
Your energy changes.
Your clarity returns.
Your decisions become easier.
Not because you’ve forced anything, but because you’ve stopped holding what isn’t yours.
So if something has been feeling heavier lately, instead of trying to fix it…
Just notice it.
And ask yourself “Do I actually want to keep carrying this?”
That question alone can change more than you think…
