Why Success Doesn't Always Feel as Good as We Thought It Would
What if the answer isn't to create more, but to experience the abundance that's already here?
Have you ever worked toward something for so long that you were certain reaching it would feel absolutely incredible? Maybe it was a business milestone, a promotion, a financial goal, or finally having the freedom and flexibility you'd been dreaming about.
And then you got there.
Of course, you were excited and grateful, and maybe you even took a moment to celebrate. But before long, your attention had already shifted toward the next opportunity, the next goal, or the next big, beautiful thing you wanted to create.
I know this feeling well because I genuinely LOVE creating. I love dreaming about what's possible, building businesses, bringing ideas to life, and watching people step into opportunities they once couldn't imagine. There's something incredibly energizing about growth, and I don't think that part of me is going anywhere anytime soon!
But I've also come to recognize something about myself, and I wonder if you might relate.
Sometimes I've been so busy creating more of the life I wanted that I haven't fully experienced the life I already had.
There have been seasons when I've looked around at everything I'd worked so hard to create and realized how much abundance was already present. Meaningful work, beautiful relationships, opportunities, experiences, and freedoms that once felt like distant dreams had become part of my everyday life.
And yet, I still directed so much of my attention toward what came next.
It wasn't that I wasn't grateful, or that I didn't appreciate what I'd created. I simply hadn't always given myself the space to slow down and really feel it.
That realization led me to something that has stayed with me ever since:
I didn't need to create more. I needed to experience what I'd already created.
Now, before you think I've traded in my big dreams for a life of sitting around admiring everything I've accomplished, let me assure you that is NOT what's happening. HA!
I still want to grow, explore, create, and see what's possible. But I also want to be fully present for the abundance that's already here, because what is the point of creating a beautiful life if we're too busy reaching for the next thing to actually enjoy living it?
